We are starting a new round of GLAD

Do you suffer from osteoarthritis of the knee or hip?

The abbreviation GLA:D® stands for Good Life with osteoArthritis in Denmark. The program, which consists of the three areas "advice and instruction", "exercises" and "quality control by means of data collection", was introduced in Denmark in 2013. The aim of GLA:D® Switzerland Osteoarthritis is to enable people with knee osteoarthritis or hip osteoarthritis to enjoy a good quality of life and to delay or avoid surgery.

HOW DOES THE GLA:D® SCHWEIZ ARTHROSIS PROGRAM WORK?

Patients undergo the so-called 3 - 2 - 12 - 1 program with their GLA:D® certified physiotherapist:

3 individual sessions with initial examination, tests and practical introduction to the exercise program
2 group sessions with advice and instruction
12 group sessions with neuromuscular exercise program
1 individual session with an exit examination, including a brief report to the referring doctor

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE GLA:D® SWITZERLAND ARTHROSIS?

After completing the program, patients have sufficient skills to manage their knee or hip problems independently. This is also confirmed by the long-term results after 12 months. Less pain and better walking ability were the results after 3 and 12 months. In addition, there was no decline in the improvement curve after 12 months, as is often the case with other treatment methods. Patients with knee or hip problems therefore benefit from greater physical freedom of movement, which improves their quality of life.

The GLA:D® Switzerland Osteoarthritis program is covered by health insurance if prescribed by a doctor.
